Gardening Leaders This role is for gardeners who are self motivated and would enjoy leading a small team of like minded colleagues. It is an advantage to have Level 2s in Horticulture for this position. This is a casual position and as a Leader you are even more in control of what days and hours you'd like to work. Leaders begin their Weeding Women journey as a Gardening Assistant and after the required experience, training and confidence is gained then further specialist training is carried out to promote you to the next level of Leader. It can take up to three months to have all the skills you need for this position. Of course up until that time you are working and earning and learning as a Gardening Assistant. On 16th September 2009 we turned 20. Wow! Where did the years go! In one way it seems like yesterday when we were operating from a garage/office in 1989; and it some ways it seems so long ago because of all the highs and lows, all the lessons learnt, all the gardens we’ve transformed, all the gardeners we’ve trained and worked with, but mainly all the fun we’ve had!
